A distinctive feature of IDS is the celebration of individual strengths and talents. A diverse group of learners, we come together to explore and grow. While there is no typical IDS student, we are a curious, energetic, and joyful community.
Finding the right environment for your child’s education makes a world of difference. At The Independent Day School, you’ll find an environment that nurtures intellectual curiosity, stimulates personal growth, and encourages critical thinking and innovation. IDS is committed to providing students from our three- year-old program through grade eight with a high-quality education and to helping young people develop -- not only as students, but also as well-rounded individuals.
Each student is guided and encouraged to build on their unique strengths and to develop attitudes and habits that bring success in school, in college, and in rewarding careers. Students are given the opportunity to mature into contributing members of the local and global community. Trust, understanding, and respect-for oneself and others thrive here.
The Independent Day School is eager to help you learn more about our school. Our Admission Office includes Robin Nichols, our Director of Admission, Chris Wilkes, our Associate Director of Admission, and Ruthann Montgomery, our Administrative Assistant. The Admission Office will gladly share admission materials and respond to any questions you may have about IDS. What’s more, we hope you will allow us to arrange for your personal visit to the school, as seeing it is the best way to fully appreciate the extraordinary work that happens in our classrooms.
