Learning Center

IDS is committed to maximizing each student’s potential. In order to do so, we provide the differentiated experiences or services beyond those normally offered in the regular school program to those students who may benefit from them. The small, caring community at IDS allows the Learning Center to collaborate with classroom teachers and families to identify the learning needs of a child and implement a plan that best meets them.

We provide all students in grades one and two with support and early intervention to address academic inconsistencies. Learning Center teachers work in the First and Second Grade classrooms with teachers and students, assessing strengths and challenges and providing explicit instruction to groups and individuals. In Grades Three through Eight, the Learning Center can provide services for an additional fee to students who require them based on teacher recommendations, parent requests, or a documented need. We assist students with anything from organization, time management, and study skills to reading, writing and spelling.
