The Independent Day School is a co-educational independent school for three-year-old Beginners through Grade Eight children. The school is located on rolling hills in the countryside of Middlefield. Since its founding in 1961, families of diverse racial, religious and social backgrounds have come from over 30 surrounding communities to experience a challenging curriculum in a warm, supportive environment.

Beginners attend 3 or 5 days a week, 8:00-12:00.

K-2nd meets 5 days a week, 8:00-3:10.
3rd-8th meets 5 days a week, 8:00-3:20.
After school care available daily for all children until 5:30 p.m.

IDS graduates are welcomed at outstanding secondary schools including independent schools, parochial schools, and public schools. In the past three years, 56% of our students have attended independent secondary schools, 22% have attended parochial schools, and 22% have attended public schools.
