IDS Geography Bee

 

The winner of this year’s Independent Day School Geography Bee was eighth grader, Bo Dwyer of Glastonbury.   The following students from grades 4-8 were finalists:  fourth grade, Louis Barber of Middletown and Jenna Blocher of Southington; fifth grade, Avery Schmitz of Portland and Elise Gendrich of Middletown; sixth grade, Kyle Cook of Wallingford and Kieran Anderson of Durham; seventh grade, Yavar Moien of Durham and Jenny Weiss of Middletown; eighth grade, Mark Sheehan of Rocky Hill.  Fifth grade teacher, Rob Schoen, from West Hartford, moderated the Geography Bee.
