The Student Government provides an opportunity for driven students to make improvements to the community around them; the community in which they live in every day.
This was the reason why the Independent Day School Student Government was founded in 2011. This year represents the first Student Government in IDS history. Each of its members are eager to embrace the challenges ahead in the hope that they can ameliorate their school.
This page is for you, the students, to educate you on the projects the Student Government is currently engrossed in as well as to describe to you our plans for the future. It is necessary for you to understand that regardless of the outcomes of the election or if you did not run, in reality you are all members of our Student Government. You have the opportunity to propose ideas as well as offer input to the Student Government. All of the projects that we are currently working on are those generated from the students. In the future, we hope to continue to fully utilize your input in all of our projects, as the success of the Student Government is dependent upon participation of all our students.
In this page, you will find a plethora of resources. Included is a brief description of who we are, the formation of the Student Government, as well as its elected officers and representatives. Also included is the Constitution, an area for you to share your input, a description of our current projects, as well as a monthly letter from the President describing the progress of our Student Government.
