In May of 2011, Christopher Moeckel proposed a Student Government. Inquiring to schools across Connecticut, as well as Senator Blumenthal, Senator Lieberman, and Governor Malloy, information for this Student Government was gathered, which also triggered the writing of the IDS Student Constitution. The goal of the Student Government has been the same since its formation in 2011: to provide a way for students to improve their surrounding community. The Student Government’s goal is to represent the voices of each and every student to better our school. In the future, the officers and representatives of the Student Government will be working alongside the Board of Trustees, as well as the Head of School to implement these improvements to our school.
The Student Government seeks to recognize and hear the voices of all the students. The voices of the students will be represented by three officers, as well as Class Representatives (2 from each grade). The names of the officers and representatives are below.
