Independent Day School Family Recognized for Artistic Talents

First grader, Chiu Yen and her brother, seventh grader, Leander were recognized as 2012 winners for their artwork submitted to the Community Renewal Team (CRT) National Arts Program at Capital Community College in Hartford. Leander was awarded 3rd place in the Youth category for his "Man at Bar and Grill" painting. Chiu Yen was awarded Honorable Mention in the Youth category for her drawing, "My Pet Turtle, Deke."  A painting by Chiu Yen and Leander’s grandmother, Lok Meng Lee Wang was displayed on the cover of the art show’s brochure.
