IDS is committed to maximizing each student’s potential. Learning Center teachers collaborate with classroom teachers and families to identify individual learning styles and needs of a child. Once identified, we provide for these students differentiated experiences or services beyond those normally offered in the regular school program.
Support and early intervention for all students in Kindergarten through grade two address academic inconsistencies. In collaboration with classroom teachers, Learning Center staff assess student strengths and challenges and provide differentiated, explicit instruction. In grades three through eight, the Learning Center can provide services for an additional fee to students who require them based on teacher recommendations, parental requests, or a documented need. Assistance and/or instruction is provided in the areas of organization, study skills, reading, writing, spelling, and math.
