IDS is committed to maximizing each student’s potential. The small, caring community here allows the Learning Center to collaborate with classroom teachers and families to identify individual learning styles and needs of a child, all in an effort to provide a plan that best meets their needs. Once identified, we provide for these students differentiated experiences or services beyond those normally offered in the regular school program.
We provide support and early intervention for all students in Kindergarten through grade two to address academic inconsistencies. In collaboration with classroom teachers, Learning Center staff assess student strengths and challenges and provide differentiated, explicit instruction. In grades three through eight, the Learning Center can provide services for an additional fee to students who require them based on teacher recommendations, parental requests, or a documented need. Assistance and/or instruction is provided in the areas of organization, study skills, reading, writing, spelling, and math.
