Fearless 5K and Fun Run

After a four-year hiatus due to Covid restrictions, weam happy to announce that the Fearless 5k Race and Walk will be back on the grounds of our beautiful 33-acre campus!

 

This special event will take place on Saturday morning, October 28th, as part of our Family Weekend of Festivities (Fall Festival takes place on Friday, October 27th). We will have a registration table at the ready beginning at 8:30 am where 5K racers and walkers can pick up their Bibs as well as their T-shirts.  There will also be complimentary breakfast items to munch on courtesy of the Dunkin' Batista Companies.  The cost to either race or walk in the 5k is $30.00 along with a modest processing fee.

 

At 9:45 am, starting at the front entrance of the school (beginning of the driveway right next to Laurel Brook Road) there will be a "Fun Run" for children ages 10 and younger. That run will go to the EC circle and back.  The cost for the children's Fun Run is $5.00 along with a modest processing fee.  Participants in the Fun Run will receive a Bib.  Children are encouraged to wear either a green or blue shirt to the race to show their IDS spirit!

 

The main race itself will begin at 10:00 a.m. (beginning of the driveway next to Laurel with the start of the runners).  Once the runners have departed, the walkers will immediately follow suit.

 

After the race, at approximately 11:30 a.m., we will have a Blue Ribbon cutting ceremony as we dedicate our new Raised Beds! Representatives from the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for the dedication ceremony. Once we finish the ceremony, all are encouraged to stay for a special barbecue of hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers.  All that attend are asked to bring their favorite potluck side dish for the barbeque.

 

In addition to the Dunkin' Batista Company, I want to give a special shout-out to Patrick Collins, the owner of the Nutmeg Finish Line Timing Company, for all of his efforts in creating the special portal by which to register for the race.  Patrick will also be on-site on the morning of October 28th to take the "day of" registrations.  The cost for racers and walkers will remain at $30 along with children under 10 competing in the "Fun Run" at $5 for those who register on the morning of 10/28.
